how to play 22 up as far as 77/88 late in a tourney?

About 50 players left last night in the 20k on paddys, about mid placed with c100k in chips. blinds 3k/6k got low pairs 3 times but each time I got them I was either mid or late position and there was at least 1 large (50k plus) all in before it got to me. What to do? I folded each time, it was getting annoying as Id got 22/44/55 in a short space of time, with the position I was in Id probably call anything up to the 30k mark but not too much more then that.

Question 1 do I call, question 2 if it does get to me with no action is it an all-in or whats the raise here? got to 20th in the end but felt I missed some chances.

    How many get paid here?

Mostly I'd be saying fold. Over half your stack to call when your at best probably slighty better than 50/50. Still too early in the tournament for these 50/50s. You still have an M (stack to blinds ratio) of about 11 so dump em and wait for a better spot. The 50k plus raises are not desperation moves yet with these blinds.

Later in the tournament it becomes a call, depending on ITM and M.

100 get paid for 10$ +1 entry. Ive seen an average of 1000 players with about 250 rebuys. 20th got something like 260$. Its on at 8:30 weeknights at least. Ive made top 50 a couple of times and that was usually around midnight.

Managing to win a race around that time of the tourney will leave you with a great chance to cruise to the final table, Id prefer to be the aggressor than calling but against an aggressive player I call.

Anyone going all-in for 50K is doing so with an M=6. This is open push with any two. A,x or K,xs are distinct possibilities here.

Mind you, I fold these unless I'm on the button are in the blinds, even then, I'll fold most of the time, unless I know the player to be solid.
