A bit of a poll overload today but.......

Which character do you think is/will be the most important character? , who will have the most significance to the plot? (whatever that may be?), who is connected to everybody? Who is the whole thing about?

I have left out Ben from the poll because I think it would be easy to say him as he is important anyway but I dont think it is him as he was there on the island anyway.
Or Juliet although I am pretty sure she has some importance but why would all the other characters (survivors) be brought in to the story if it was all about her. We would just have a story about the others living on the Island then and no crash.
I am talking more about the survivors and characters from flashbacks.

I think it could be Dr.Christian or possibly Hurley.

    Well where is the Poll?

It will be Loche/Jack or Desmond.

Has to be Desmond, I think Penny's father has alot to do with the whole thing

Christian. He seems to be part of a few of the characters back stories. Also the fact his body was on the plane etc- there has got to be more to that

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,575 ✭✭✭ZiabR

People voting for Christian? Do we have proof that he is alive? You can't really vote for a char that we are not sure is even living anymore.

I went for Jack because he has connections with Christian/Claire/Claires Baby and now the Others.

No Sayid? I think his new found leadership role will make him very important in the future.

Barring him I'd say Desmond because of the Penelope connection.
    Or Kate.

jacks dad cos he seems to be a horny devil and it will turn out that they are all his children

    LOL yeah.

But he is dead as far as i am concerned "until proven otherwise" so people should not really be voting for a char that is dead.

Yeah i agree no voting on dead people - i think Desmond cos of all that lark with penny and them trying to reach this island

Lost character who will turn out to be the most significant to the plot is the name of the poll.

Just because they're dead doesnt mean they definately cant be one of the most significant to the plot? I think its naive to think that. Christian clearly is significant, he's been in so many of the big background stories.

    Christian R.I.P

I agree that Sayid is important and will become very important as the show goes on but I dont think it is all about him, or they are all there because everyone is connected to him someway.

I agree with descry here, Christian will probably turn out to be the one who has a connection to everyone, the reason why all the losties are on the Island, although I don't know why yet.
So it doesn't really matter if he is dead or not!

(How do we know he is dead, I can't remember if Jack identified his body in the morgue in Australia and if he did maybe it was a set-up)

Well since the very beginning it has been made known that Locke is a central character. Then again, Jack is the leader and he has connections with a lot of characters. Christian is, of course, the obvious one after the last episode. And then there is Hurley with the whole cursed numbers thing.

I don't think there is one significant character. It would be stupid if it turned out that it was all because of Hurley or it was all because of Christian....

I don't think it'll all turn out to be because of one person, but I voted Christian, as he has a very significant impact on several of the characters lives and resulting in them being on the flight, or affecting their lives in some way.

Hell, I bet he was even the one that was looking to adopt Claires baby, resulting in her being on the flight too!

    ooooooh that'd be cool.

Bad memory esp when it comes to watching LOST, was the body ever in the coffin?

Also to further my christian argument, a lot of the back stories seem to feature something to do with the father figure or lack of in the characters lives. Jack firstly but also Kate, SUn, Claire....? Maybe a coincidence.

Vincents back-story the week after next apparently. Abandoned by his father who had a one-night-stand with his mother. He later caused the death of Claires mother when he ran in front of the car.
    Could be crucial.

    :)

    Edit.
Sorry, just realised the above should've been surrounded by spoiler dog-tags.

We never saw the body in the coffin, and when they found the coffin on the island, it was empty...

But then again, Yemmi's (sp?) body disappeared too...

Agreed, there was no body in the coffin when Jack found it. Would love to know the purpose of the two people in the cave where to coffin was and also the fact that they were carrying a Black and White stone.

I think they possibly represent one of the "others" and someone from Dharma that got together, possibly causing the "purge" and some of the trouble between the "others" and Dharma. The black and white stones representing the two sides...

    Just a theory!

Yeah possibly, do you remember the ep when Loche turned to Claire and he had one Black eye and one White eye? Man he looked freaky but there must be a link between the two.

That Loche is both good and evil....

Jaysus, I don't remember that at all! When was that?

Remember Claire had a dream? I think it was around the time that Loche made Claire the bed for the baby. You have to check it out mate. His eyes look freaky :P

imo christians body was never in the coffin anyway

they loaded an empty coffin into the plane to shut jack up, planning on claiming it was an error when jack found out on arrival

I still think he is alive (or part of the spirit that lives on the island maybe - weird) and has something to do with them all on the Island, maybe he is the leader of the others/dharma???

I think that dharma and the others are all the same.

    Hey logik
Can you remember the name of the psychic that told Claire to get on that particular flight?
    Was he working for Dharma/others?

He may have had or has ties with the Dharma group but i am nearly sure that Dharma and the Others are not the same. They are of two different origins. Some of the others have never been off that Island. I think they could be decendents from the Black Rock.

Still not sure about Dharmas role on the Island

Yeah he was Richard Malkin, but i don't think he works for Dharma. Can't be sure though.

Well he really wanted Claires Baby to get to the Island, not so much Claire so that does give the impression that he was working for someone at the time and maybe is still working for them. I don't think we will see much more on him a-such but we might see who asked him to send her there and why she was sent there.

Of course this is only speculation.

Rickard Malkin. In the episode with Mr. Eko visiting the girl that supposedly "came back from the dead" he was her father, and admitted to being a fraud, if I remember correctly.
