I want something that doesn't necessarily have to be tiny but small enough for easy storage that records to wav and therefore has relatively large storage space, is reliable and doesn't eat batteries like there's no tomorrow. Oh and I only need to record to stereo, no multi-tracking needed.

Can anyone recomend anything?

Zoom H4. Has built in XY condensors as well as pre-amps. Records to compact flash.
