A day in Zurich

I'll be travelling to Zurich and the countryside around the south of Germany for work this week. I'll have most of a day free in Zurich. (evening+following daytime)

I was there before but only for a couple of hours so didn't do much besides get a meal and travel to the airport.
I'll have a rental car with me. Any recommendations on some sights to see? I'm a (very) amateur photographer in my spare time, so the more interesting the better. Also, any recommendation on free/cheap parking in Zurich? I won't be able to leave the car at the hotel as I will be checking out early in the morning.

I'm going to stop off at Schaffhausen on my way to the German border to see the Rhine Falls, which are supposed to be fantastic.

    Any comments appreciated :)

Is that Schloss Laufen am Rheinfals? Well worth the trip.

Also, go up Uetliberg, where you can get great shots of Zurich.

I fI was you though, I'd head over to Schloss Lichtenstein near Metzingen, around 250km drive from Zurich.

    /digs up another old thread

Yes, Rheinfall at Neuhausen - very convenient stop for anyone travelling from Zurich to Germany as its right beside the Thayngen/Schaffhausen border crossing.
Turns out the weather was rubbish when I was there (heavy snow!!) but I stopped at Rheinfall again on my way back to Zurich from Germany and had good weather and took a few photos. Lovely place.

In Zurich I ended up leaving the car in Parkhaus Urania. Pretty expensive but very, very central.
