Hi. I own a Trace Elliot AH500 Bass Head. I have had it for 5 years now and bought it from new. Lately I have noticed that every now and again The sound just cuts from the amp. After a couple of mins it might come back or I might have to switch it on and off a couple of times. Has anyone any ideas on whats wrong and if so is it fixable? Can anyone recommend someone who repairs/services amplifiers ? Thanks

Check the instrument resources sticky for a couple of amp repair contacts. You're better off getting this looked at by a pro.

Hi, i had a problem like this before with my old bass amp. my amp was based on the trace's. its a problem with a lot of bass amps though. the problem was with the send/return jacks on the fx loop on mine. i fixed it myself, but i have some electrical experience. you should get a tech to fix it as the Doc says. amplifiers can be extremely dangerous if you dont know what you're doing. :)

Could be caused by an overheating issue of some sort.... Hard to know without seeing the amp.
