South America: Footprints or Rough Guide?

    Hi!

I'm off to S.America at the end of the year and want to get a guide book to start my research (yay!)

I've always been a big fan of the Rough Guide but have heard that for S.A, footprints is the way to go. Also, the latest edition for S.A Rough Guide is only 2004 ......

So what do you think? Do you think its worth waiting for a few months and hope a new Rough Guide is released?

Alternatively, if someone has a second hand copy, I'd be happy to buy it off you ....

    Thanks!

Most DUblin libraries have both, albeit older versions but you'll be able to get an idea on which would suit you better. I'd say Rough Guide though or lonely planet...
