i have a tv shoot this week and have to use the sony z1 for the first time.
i'm used to using canon xm1, xl1 and am looking for tips and advice on using the z1.
any thoughts would be great - a bit nervous!!

I'm not a cameraman myself but have edited and directed stuff shot on the Z1. Be careful when framing - you cannot see the very edge of frame in the viewfinder sometimes.

Quiet a good camera but its not great for handheld work as it can't be shoulder mounted. It gets heavy after a few minutes. Also make sure its set to the correct format as the camera can record either mini-dv, DVCAM, or HDV. This is a basic enough point but a very important one. The XLR's are on the side of the camera rather than the back which is a little bit awkward. That's all I can remember.
