not sure about the other games listed, but oblivion is delayed until april by bethesda. no idea why... but it's out in the states so you can just order online since there's no region encoding

I've always been weary of buying from Video Game Plus. Is it as big a problem as I think it is having only access to NTSC games? You run a Pal TV, or did you get a NTSC TV for the PS3? To be honest, I know a good deal about games and gaming in general, but I know nothing about importing.

The PS3 games arent NTSC. They're region free.
no need to worry about any compatibility issues.

Fantastic! But, do I still have to basically get financially raped by buying a PS3 here? Or can I just use a PS3 on my good ol' CRT telly at home? That's right, I said CRT. OLD SCHOOL BABY!

Well seeing as how the PS3 comes with composite cables of course it will work on your CRT.

You are my guiding light! I have a degree in computer science, and I feel like a complete tool-box at the moment. Thank's for the info. Think I'll save myself about €300 by buying the PS3 of Video Game Plus!

    Probably not.
You'll be hit with import charges on it.

VG+ are pretty good for not getting hit with customs, they mark everything down as $20 toy game and it usually gets through alright. I ordered a lot of stuff from them, including my PSP, and never been hit by customs. I'm not saying you wont get hit with customs but its not likely with them. They also have very fast shipping, a PS3 would take 2-3 days to get here.

Haven't been hit once for customs from VG+ items, and they're fast too. Definitely recommend them.

That looks like a great price, $749 CND is about €485, not including shipping.

If anyone gets one this way I would really like to know how ye get on, with customs/support/compatibility/returns.

noticed on the games boxes and the PS3 boxes in Smyths that they have a 'Region 2' symbol on it. Was over in the states recently and their games and PS3's have a 'Region 1' symbol on them.

Everywhere I've heard it mentioned has said that all the games are region free, for now at least.

Remember that the blue ray movies are region locked so if you get a player from canada then you will have to order region 1 movies for the unit as well.

    Later,

They probably had issues during the localisation for all the European languages. Although I would have thought that was sorted when they did the pc and 360 versions.

just be sure that if your do get an NTSC model that your TV is compatible with NTSC signals, otherwise everything will looks black and white and just downright weird :)

I'm going to get three games at launch, Motorstorm, Resistance and I'm trying to decide between Fight Night Round 3 or Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. I really enjoyed X-Men legends 2, but at the moment I'm all about playing online so I think Fight Night Round 3 might be a better choice. I don't know, anyone have any ideas?
