I got a 2nd hand auto audi a4 a little while ago and there was no manual with it. Dont worry, I have a mate looking out for one for me. Anyway, its an automatic and a dream to drive. But last night while driving in the lower gears a symbol and a beep appeared on the dash. It was a circle with mph in the middle with a '1' to the left and only appeared when accelerating in low gears. Can anyone tell me what it is and what needs to be done? Thanks in advance.

AFAIK, if you press the service (spanner) button while driving, it sets a speed limit warning at the speed you were travelling when you pressed the button - every time you exceed that speed it warns you. A useful aid in a restricted speed zone. It should reset after you restart.

Yeah a very Germanic sort of thing, "Look you've gone over 60! eek!"

    Mike.
