well with everything off your pc is doing nothing.
with ts on it is doing something ie voice comms.

ventrilo is much better as well though.

Ventrilo might be better and faster but the sound quality it just atrocious...

When I'm not running anything my PC hovers between 0 & 1%. With TS running it hovers between 1 & 5%.

30%+ sounds like an awful lot to me. What CPU do you have?

No way teamspeak should use up that much of your processor. Try altering the quality settings in TS and bitrate of the channel you use.

    hi khannie,
thanks for the advice. i lowered the direct sound buffer size and on the lowest cpu usage now down to about 12%. i'm using onboard sound on a Asus P5B DLX/WIFI-AP, P965, Socket-775, ATX, 2xGbLAN, SATAII, Firewire, PCI-Ex16 and the drivers are not so good for it so might be the reason for slow down. time for a real soundcard me thinks.
    thanks v.much.

    regards keith.
