    Full Tilt Poker
    No Limit Holdem Tournament
    Blinds: t30/t60
    7 players

    Stack sizes:
    UTG: t1065
    UTG+1: t1925
    dvdfan: t1355
    CO: t1120
    Button: t4130
    SB: t1910
    BB: t1995

    Pre-flop: (7 players) dvdfan is MP1 with 8d 8h
    UTG folds, UTG+1 raises to t180, dvdfan raises to t400, 4 folds, UTG+1 raises all-in t1925, dvdfan calls all-in t955.
Uncalled bets: t570 returned to UTG+1.

Im multitabling so i dont have any read, at this level i dont think UTG raises have as much weight unless you know the player is solid, i think more often than not youll see a wide range being raised from here at this level. Figured i could get AQ-AT and small pocket pairs to drop here but when he RR all in i was happy to take the chance id be racing. Is it too soon to be getting into all in's. I feel giving the structure on FT im getting all in too often when i dont need to and should be outplaying people on the flop instead and getting all in when i think im ahead rather than when im either racing or a dog. Whats your opinions. Basically on FT you can play for 50 mins or so with 1500-2000 stack before you need to be pushing all in

I wouldn't be worried about getting it all in too soon, I will happily do it on first hand if I think I am good.
Nothing wrong with both lines depending on the player. If I am going to re-raise then I am getting all in no matter what, if I don't want to invest my stack then I will flat call and play for set value.

Thanks for the reply cooker, i was up against JJ and didnt hit my set. I wasnt tilting after this because i already outdrew a couple of times earlier against bigger pairs just wondering if i should be willing to race with medium PP at this stage rather than trying to outlpay on the flop and get my money all in when im ahead.

You have to respect raises in early position unless you have seen something to say differently. Calling the all in is pretty marginal too, he needs to be pushing AQo in this spot for it to be +EV.

You should just drop it. You cant call for set value preflop either.

When you say that you think you can get utg to fold smaller PP and AQ-AT, then surely the range we are up against is going to be 99+,AKo which we dont fair well against.

Yep im pretty much calling with the worst hand here most of the time if im putting on that range. So i think its best to either call or fold here. I dont mind the RR if the blinds were bigger but i can afford to be more patient until im in a better position

Actually yeah, just looked again and your too short to play for set value so just push or fold and probably fold without any other info.
