Hearing Aid Test?

As a result of ear infections when I was a kid I've very little hearing in my right ear and I think about 70% hearing in my left (from hearing tests done as a kid I seem to recall this percentage).

Anyhow I never had a hearing aid fitted as the left ear compensated and in most situations it never mattered.

However recently heard a recording of my voice and was shocked to hear how nasal it sounded, its a little like how very deaf people sound when they talk.

I'd like to test how everything sounds with a hearing aid in my right ear, proper stereo would be nice!!

What kind of hearing loss is considered necessary for a aid in the ear?, my right ear has about 20% of normal I think from memory of tests done a very long time ago.
