Green Company Suggestions

    Hello there,

Recently I finished a Degree in forestry and I've found it very difficult to get into the sector. Since then I've been working in very unsatisfying finance type jobs. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for companies that I could apply to that operate in the 'green sector' (not necessary forestry related). I have already looked at the sticky on the main page that lists various companies/ organisations, e.g. Coillte Teo, SEI, Airtricity etc. and I'll be sending my CV out to these guys soon, but if anyone had any other suggestions for companies - big or small - located in Dublin it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks :)

In the SEI grants section there are lists of wood pellet and chip suppliers. Many of them work with forestry companies. Send them all cvs. The more cvs you send the better.

When I graduated, there were feck all jobs about. I sent out 100 cvs in 3 weeks.(and got a job) For graduates, the shot gun method is the best.

There is a company in Tuam setup by a farmer. He has gone from having a few mushroom tunnels (years ago) to now having a fully functional wood pellet production company. He received zero grant assistance, made some of his own equipment (talented fitter) and is now selling locally. However his volume is small so I'm not sure how many empoyees he will need. However, superb entrepreneur like that might be interested in working with you. He was featued in Farmers journal a few weeks ago.

Kedco are going to be irelands leading wood pellet boiler company, they can guarantee year round supply, maybe check in with them. Might be able to work on their wood pellet side.
