Anybody know how much your typical Portrait Photography session for a family would be?

    Thanks.

Tough one to answer. I don't think there is such thing as a typical session. You'd probably be better off deciding on a budget before going to a studio and then looking for what you can get for the money you've decided on.
Your location will factor into it a bit. But peg it at €300 - €2000. That's what I've seen em go for depending on the civilian.

There's a sort of franchise/chain called Venture that do modern family portraits, they try to do something a bit different and the results are usually fairly nice and bright and bold, which is fun with the kids. I used to work for Debenhams and got a free portrait session there with the one in Stirling (Scotland - but there are studios in Dublin too) and it was great fun and the pictures were really nice too. The website mentions an offer for a 1 hour session and a 7x5 (which is small and they are counting on your forking out a hundred quid + for more, bigger prints) for £25 but I don't know if they do that for the ROI ones too. But that might be a good chance to see how you feel about the whole thing before you fork out loads for a session. I think they have a stand in the Stephen's Green centre, you know up on the top floor next to where all the paintings are? Sure I saw them in either the Liffey Valley centre or the Blanchardstown one, too.

There's also a website, and I found a blog where someone described their recent portrait experience.

Just a suggestion, not sure how much the local places would charge for the same sort of thing, that's the only experience I have anyway.
