    Party Poker
    No Limit Holdem Tournament
    Blinds: t100/t200
    8 players

    Stack sizes:
    UTG: t2820
    UTG+1: t2100
    MP1: t1640
    dvdfan: t1700
    CO: t2430
    Button: t2270
    SB: t3210
    BB: t3830

    Pre-flop: (8 players) dvdfan is MP2 with qc 8c
    3 folds, dvdfan raises all-in t1700, 3 folds, BB calls t1500 (pot was t2000).

    What do you think of this push, is this standard with the blinds getting big

    Not much info really in that post. The big stacks are in the blinds. Have you much fold equity according to how the table is playing? Have you been pushing or raising up to this. You have 4 players yet to act including the blinds who have you well covered . I'm not loving this push. Just because the blinds are increasing doesn't mean you have to commit hari-kari from mid-position

    the table would have to be very tight to make this good. by the looks of it is.

    people behind you have to fold 22-55, A2s-A5s, A2o-A8o, KQo to make this profitable.

    This push is fine. I am surprised the STT has got to that blind level on party with 8 left tbh. Anytime you have 10 BBs or less, open pusing in that spot cannot be too bad.

    I would say the general consensus will be that the push is good. I think its marginal though. There are 4 players behind which I think is maybe 1 too many. The BB is the big stack and can afford this gamble with a reasonably wide range. Would really need to know more about how the table was raising / folding etc up to this - and how dvd fan had been playing.

    Does any of this matter really in STTs..? or is it always a robotic

    {
    IF stacksize<=(BB x 10) + folded around + suited Q+
    THEN push
    ELSE fold
    }

    People have to be playing ultra-tight for this to be good i.e. only calling with 99+, AT+, etc. And with a few players still to get through, this is very marginal.

    I think it's fine. Pushing with an M of 6 in EP/MP is super standard. In LP I dont mind pushing with an M of 7 or 8.

    Everyone including me were playing tight enough and raises were more often than not winning the blinds. Felt if i didnt make a move before the blinds hit me then i was in big trouble as anyone in the blinds after this would only have to call 1200(bb) or 1300(sb) so my folding equity is going to be alot less then and with the stacks and blinds ratio everyone was going to become looser as soon as the next blinds increased (200/400) and then i would only have an M of just 2 so i needed to double up badly before everyone went. Even the top 2 stacks would have M of only 5 and 6 as soon as the next blinds increased.

    Felt i hadnt much choice and would have pushed with a wider range here to be honest just wondering what other people usually do in this situation
