Maybe she wants to send a message to the other end of the island?

Did you see those tags, they are not usually like that.
She just folded up a piece of paper really tightly and tied it on to the tag with some twine or something!!!!!!! HELLO!!!! It will get wet when the seagulls are doing a bit of surfing as they do! Or even in the rain.

It was probably just written in to explain the charlie falling in off the rocks story.

Nah i don't think she had anyone in mind except the outside world for her message. Remember when Charlie read it back to her, it was clearly intended for the outside world to find.

As far as the Seagull goes, i think they were just filling in the story as mentioned above.

But Claire might not fully know about the other Island. And who would know to setup traps to catch seagulls?

    Makes no sense.

we didn't see the trap work if it even would

I will be very surprised if that message gets out unless it is not an island as I have suggested before.

We will probably forget about it till series 26 when they will be rescued by Captain birds eye or Green peace!!!

I do in fact mean a metaphorical exploration of her characters wants, needs, dreams and ambitions!

    HA HA!:D

BTW, how come nobody noticed I'd wrote "0" instead of "10"? Quite a slip up on everyone's behalf.

I'm pretty sure we all noticed, but knew it was a typo from reading the rest of your message

Also, there's been some suggestion over at the Losttv forums that Charlie may have palmed the note before giving the bird to Claire—if you look carefully you can see what appears to be a piece of white paper in his hand. It may just be a production error though, but if not it might make for an interesting twist. Maybe Charlie has grown so close to Claire that he doesn't want to leave the island.

yeah thats been confirmed as a production error

Some seagulls do migrate so it's not correct saying that they'll just fly to the next island.

I can't believe I'm bothered pointing this out. I need to get out more.
