Depends how bad the infection is, I imagine. Once the spots appear, you're no longer contagious, so I assume that means you've started to mend.

I've never had chickenpox :(. I feel so left out.

Hey G86, I like you got the pox quite old, only having them last year at 26. Went to the doc saying i wasn't feeling well and he told me i had sinusitus(SP?) which i get every couple of years.
the next day i'm covered in pox, well my torso is, none on my legs or arms, only my head/face and torso. and i do mean covered. I might have a pic if anyone is interested in seeing it.
Any i had them for a long time, maybe even over 4 weeks, they cleared off my face but my body was still covered in them for a long time.

just to let you know i found the best relief for them to get into a cold bath sit in it for about 10 minutes or so and then get out, wouldn't scratch much after that. I was also taking antihisamines(SP?) to stop the scratching. didn't go with the lotion too much as it was awkward to put on.

Pity to hear you have them and i do hope they clear up for you quick

    Hi

Doctors has told me im contagious for ten days as the spots are only starting and will b contagious until scabs have formed (gross i know!)

Havent that many at the mo but he says they come in batches over the next few days and i will be covered :(

Noelle they are just on my torso at the mo an my scalp an wish they would just stay that way...but dont seem likely. Its really crap cz ive so much on at work i have contracts to close and its stressin me out. I know its a shallow thing but i really want them to be gone by my 21rst.id been planning it for ages :(

Did you find you had no appetite at all? I have them in my mouth too you see.(eww)

Got antihistmine too and good painkillers of doc and still on antibiotics but they are for my sinusitus.
