Does any one have any Idea of what I'm on about? I saw it on telly around Christmas 2004. It was an animation about (or mostly featured) Cuchulainn and the Morrigan, really great pictures, not in typical animation style but sort of slow moving and had a lovely poetic narration? I'm dying to find out what it is. Tried Googling and didn't come up with much.

Haha, yeah I remember that too. Not what I'm looking for though. It wasn't 3D.
That show was funny though, I think there was a character called Conn and all their mouths all looked mad in downturney way.

^^^^and the puppet/mala thing mentioned there, I just remembered was based around the high king of tara too. I've also been surfing for that, with no joy...

I remember the mala one based around the High King of Ireland that used to be on the Den, nothing about the one the OP is talking about though.

was it done by brown bag by any chance?

Just googled brown bag, and no, the animation I'm looking for looked like it was done more traditionally and not entirely aimed at children.
Still cant find anything on the other mala one either, im dying to find a picture of their mouths :)

I'm fairly certain its not it (unless its been some how leaked on to the net!) but you just described an exact replica of a short documentary I made in college! Strange!
