I am currently watching the show on tg4 so I can’t really comment much on the 4th Series but on
Stringers death. I remember the actual board on HBO was split in two camps, one felt it was a massive mistake as it deprived the show of its most charismatic character and their was still much more you could do with him than Avon. The other half who I agreed with felt he had it coming he was consistently going behind Avon’s back which obviously was not the brightest thing to do. I do however think it would have more sense for Avon to pull the trigger, I know some will say “Avon could never pop String” it would have being much more realistic than Brother Muzzone(the only character in any series which I never really believed).

I'm another recent convert. Have been exhausted in work every day for the past 3 weeks due to "one more episode syndrome". Currently nearing the end of season 3. Absolutely fantastic show.

You'll have the best viewing experience if you watch S1 first. Otherwise you'll probably be confused, the show is complex enough as it is so the less confusion the better.
S1 can be bought for close to €30 so you're better off getting it first.
