Not a big poker player or anything, but just wondering is it bad form/rude etc. to organise a cash game and have a rule that states that nobody can cash out for say the first hour?

Just that a few times I've either been playing or just watching where 1 person might win big in 1st hand or 2 then leave, kinda like a shark or whatever... Once they get their money they leave... I know its probably ok in casinos/card house etc. but what about just a few buddies over for an evening?

Feel free to call me an idiot etc. as i said i'm not a huge player or anything, just wondering...

people should be free to play for as long or short as they feel but if someone does this in a home game they do not get invited back

Don't think you can really stop people from leaving the game totally if they win big early.
What you can do though is not let people take money off the table, and not let them "take a break for an hour" and then come back to the table with a smaller amount of money compared to what they left with.

so long as everyone agrees before hand there is no reason why not. also its not sharks that leave after a win its fish...

thats kinda the beauty of a cash game really.

I'm a big poker player any many a time you might get someone getting mouthy and its nice to just sit down few hands take their money and up and leave.

I'm personally not a fan of cash games as I find alot of where I play them anyway its with alot of dodgy people.

Ud never get a rule like that unless you have mates over or something, but then you plan on playing the night so that rule is there in itself.
