Maybe as an alternative to the Dublin Parade the newcomers to North County Dublin may wish to watch one of the local parades in North County Dublin.

I can certainly recommend the Skerries Parade. It starts on the South Strand at 15:00. The viewing stand is opposite the RC Church on Strand street where some local musicians & bands normally get to belt out a few tunes as a warm-up.

Here's a map of the parade route.

Post details here of parades in your locality...

    Balbriggan Parade

Anybody interested in joining the parade are asked to assemble in the northern end of the car park from 1.30 p.m. Mr Eddie Darcy will be the parade marshal for this years parade.
The parade will start at 2.00 p.m. from the car park at St. Peter & Paul’s Church.

The Fingal Vintage Society will drive the Cathaoirleach from the church car park to Georges Square in advance of the parade.

The route of the parade will be as follows: Dublin Street, Bridge Street, Drogheda Street & Lambeecher. The marching groups will return by the same route to the review stand at Georges Square. Commercial vehicles will continue on to the Harry Reynolds Road and back to the church car park.

As in previous years, Scoil Rince Cualann Dancing School will give a display of traditional Irish dancing. It is hoped, weather permitting, that the students of Songschool will provide musical entertainment on Georges Square after the parade.

The Town Council in association with Balbriggan & District Chamber of Commerce and Balbriggan Credit Union have organised entertainment activities for the children along the parade route.

There will be an exhibition of winning entries in the St. Patrick’s Day Art, Poetry and Essay Competition in the Town Hall from 1.30 p.m. – 4 p.m.

An Cathaoirleach, Councillor Monica Harford stated “the Town Council are urging everyone to support the parade and the associated events on the day”.
