Sky DigiBox FTA or Normal System

Hi,

I'm pretty new to all this, and am looking to purchase a system to view FTA channels. I want to buy a second hand system to get started, but don't know which to choose - Sky or normal (no card system)

Can anyone give me a few pointers. I don't thing I will ever subscribe to sky to warrent the digibox, or I doubt I will purcahse any of those cards.

So question is which allows the greater choice of channels. (prob won't be a motorised system)

To get the widest choice of English Channels from 28deg. i would recommend a skydigibox and ftv card.

For FTA choice the setup givecredit recommends is spot on...

If you're not a big fan of Channel four, then consider a FTA system with a PVR built in... I find the PVR gives me a flexibility that makes up for not having Channel four.

Or indeed get both!

Two tuner receiver with hard disk recording direct. no decoding/recoding. Playback is identical to live quality. PVR = Personal Video Recorder. Also covers devices that have DVD and/or HDD that record from analogue, to replace a VHS.
