DSLite Warranty in Ireland

20minutes ago I was playing my DSk at my desk, with the charger cable plugged in.
A phone rang behind me, wasn't expecting it, took me a second to realise that the gf had left her phone behind her this morning. As I placed the DS on the desk and reached back to grab it, my foot snagged the charger cable and dragged the DS onto the faux-wood floor.
I quickly finished the (pointless) call, rebooted the DS and was greeted by the following.

Now, I had to move house shortly after I bought my DS, and the packaging was dumped.

There's a serial number on the back of the DS.

Can I send it off to Nintendo (for a small fee) and get them to fit a replacement screen and test the unit (I'm not sure if everything else is ok either)?
Replacement screens are about 20-30euro on eBay, but there seems to be a variety of models available, which makes me wary.

I say you would yes, imo depends on how long you have had your Ds Lite. i say ring the nintendo hotline or go to nintendovip and go to the contact place there.

    Warranty doesn't cover physical damage.
But the screen 'works', in so far as it lights up and recognises input from the touchscreen.

I'll give them a phone tomorrow and see what can be done.

As a backup, would anyone happen to know where I could borrow/v. cheaply buy a screwdriver/bit to open the DS*?
    It's a tiny triangular one.

    * Should I need to replace the screen

Warranty doesnt cover the damage but Nintendo still do a repair service

Read through this page then give them a call on +44 870 6060 247

    or email them: NintendoServiceCenter@codestorm.co.uk

I tried emailing them, no response as of yet.

Will give them a tinkle after coffee.

    Need my proof-of-purchase.
Not entirely sure where I bought it, might have been Gamestop, might have been GAME.
GAME can't even search their till logs for it, Gamestop were helpful, but I can't remember the date I bought it.
Might see if they'll just write me up one.

Otherwise I'm going to order the following later today:
    Toolkit - for the Tri-Wing Eur14.99
    Touchscreen1 || Touchscreen1
I'm unsure which screen is the right one for my black DS Lite.
The first one's photo looks like the real deal, it's 27$, it says DS Lite.
However, the second one looks like a flipped/photographed backwards version of this eBay item.
I suspect the first touchscreen is a photo from the DS Phat part, and the latter is the real deal. Could explain the price difference too.

Does anyone know which is the right one?

At this stage I'd rather spend the 40euro to buy the part+tools+shipping and wait 2 weeks rather than try and squeeze a receipt out of a PFY, spend 12euro shipping the DS to the UK and then wait 4 weeks (turn-around time stated by Nintento's UK service support) to get it back - and still be running the risk of Ninty asking me for 40-60euro to pay for repairs (depending on their insistence on Proof-of-purchase for warranty).

That looks alot like Touchscreen1 above, and nothing like the second one, or that on eBay.
