    Hi All,

    Anyone know this?

If you look at the Pay Scales for the CS, for a couple of positions there are 'Standard Pay Scales' and 'Higher Pay Scales' for what appear to be identical positions (same title anyhow)>

When or why/how do the 'HIgher Pay Scales' kick in. Do some people just join the CS at higher levels of pay, and if so, what are the criteria applied to determine this?

Or is just up to each person to strike the hardest deal they can when offered a job?

    Open to the floor....
