I know it's not a racquet sport so maybe I should have put this under Sports general forum? However, it's pretty similar and the ball used is a racketball ball. The particular handball I'm talking about is American Handball I think, or city handball, I don't know the exact definition.

Does anyone play it? I'm in New York right now and loving it although my hand is severely bruised because of it. I didn't think those pansy bouncy racketballs could hurt so much, compared to squash balls they are like sponge but still hurt like hell.

Gordon you might get more responses in the GAA forum, as that particular type of handball is considered a Gaelic Game.

I played for years when I was younger, but don't any more as I haven't time.

    Good game though :)

I'll move it along. Is it really a Gaelic game?

Except it was open wall, or three wall, and always in a larger 60x30 alley if not one wall, it was sent to America and changed to the now international 40 by 20 alley.

Hope to see you in Oregon 2009!!

Handball isn't promoted enough by the GAA. We used to play it at school on a rear wall. Loads of alleys falling apart all over the country. Missed opportunity?

Why always blame the GAA for handballs bad fortunes? Handballers can help themselves....
