hey i was just wondering if there are any pedals you can buy to alter the tuning of a guitar? for eg: a guitar is standard tuning dropped to Eb and the click of a stomp box? is it possible or just wishful thinking?

Digitech whammy or pitch shifting pedal will do something similar but it would sound fairly crap if you're playing a whole song with it. The new Fender Virtual strat can do that.

The Digitech whammy can do a full step down so Eb standard. Sounds like crap though. If you want proper true pitchshifting then you need a Roland GK synth and hex pickup... AFAIK the virtual strat has a midi pickup (if its the same thing im thinking of)

A phase shifter is just a phaser, it doesnt modulate the guitars fundamental pitch in any way.
