Best games and accessories for ps3?

Ive recently decided to get a ps3 at launch so im making a list of what games and accessories im going to get. Here is my list, post up yours too!

Games:
-Motorstorm
-Resistance
-Oblivion
-Rainbow 6 Vegas
maby NBA 2K7 (looks like a good game to play with a friend!)

Accessories:
-Second controller
-Hdmi cable
-Blu-ray remote
maby memory car adapter if the games I have play on it!

You sound set to me, You have ordered the exact same as me if you switch Rainbow six with Sonic The Hedgehog.I'm ordering the memory card adaptor from videogamesplus.ca, as there has been no mention of it being released here on launch, and also it's much cheaper.

Where did you pre-book ixm?
In GAME I got to pre-order games and peripherals on the same sheet as my console, I think Smyth's have a similar system.

You see I haven't heard anything about Gamestop's sytem, except from other retailers, and why would we listen to them when they're most probably just bashing the competition, I stopped doing business with Gamestop about a year ago now for my own reasons.What type of launch are you getting?

Play.com, you can get swat for 22 euro delivered which isnt too bad. Ive heard Ice Age 2 and Crank look amazing on blu-ray, plus you'll get Casino Royale free if you register on the playstation network.

I hated that about the Original X-Box, and if they did that with the Blu-Ray movies it would completely suck.Anyone know about this?

No you don't. Though if it's half as annoying as using a PS2 controller to navigaste through DVDs, I'd probably buy the remote if I'd any serious intentions of using it as a movie player.

I thought the integrated DVD remote in the PS2's pads were brilliant, very simple and efficient layout, and I won't be spending money on a remote if I don't have to.Thanks for that Steviec.

xtra vision will be selling them right away, as well as renting PS3 games from launch day.

I suppose since the controllers are wireless there is no real need for the blu-ray remote. I think i'll see how it works out first before getting one

as far as I know they will be selling blu ray dvds as the same price as normal ones would be. i.e the departed is 27.99 at the moment so the blu ray would be the same. thats what I am hearing but I cannot confirm this at the moment. I also assume PS3 games to rent will be the same as current rental prices. I am not sure if we will be renting blu ray movies right away yet either. Ill keep you updated as I hear information!

Xtra Vision selling Blu-Ray films is another step towards Blu-Ray winning the format war.If they rent them now, that would be sweet, and as much as I like the sound of the Blu-Ray movies costing the same as their DVD counterparts, I seriously doubt that will be the case.Even if there is only €2 or €3 in the difference.

Will probably pick up one game at launch, if I haven't already bought one online. Haven't decided which one yet, but most likely Motorstorm or Ridge Racer.

Bear in mind as well that Gran Turismo HD is set to be a free download AFAIK and Tekken Dark Resurrection will be available for around €10.

I understand that Tekken is a port of the arcade version.

Just ordered my memory card adaptor from videogamesplus.ca, nice crowd, apparently it's shipped and all so I should have it by Friday.
Just thought I'd order it, as there has been no mention of it being released here for launch, and it's better to be safe than sorry.

Didn't want to start a whole new thread on this... I presume the PS3 wont come with a HDMI cable?! If not is it just standered HDMI to HDMI... would like to get one ordered from ebay now so I'll have it when it comes out and wont get ripped off for like €50+ on one!

Yea, it doesnt come with a hdmi cable. Amazon or ebay are great places to get a cheap one;)

hey have preordered ps3 in gamestop (€50) AND i am wondering what comes with the ps3 . is the ps3 controller wireless and is there a charger available!!! The package im gettin cost €639 and wondering if there is another package which is better ie free stuff??

Resistance 2ndhand us version can be got on ebay.com for 32 euros delivered, cant find any cheap copies of motorstorm though

Off the top of my head, i think there's no VGA cable for the PS3 as such.(?)

Could it be connected to a DVI monitor by using a HDMI/DVI convertor?

No VGA cable and you will need a HDCP capable monitor to hook it up with DVI.

Im sure they do. That one is good quality, a hdmi cable is a hdmi cable, no difference between the cheapest and the most expensive.

Can you play the US Resistance on the PAL PS3?? If so, any differences?

Its a digital signal, its either perfect quality or you get no picture. Cables don't make a difference.

Not true,
at least for 99.9% of people out there......generally your €10 one will be just as good as your €100 one, so I hope people don't get sucked into splashing out for your premium Monster, QED etc cable..
Just make sure its a relatively decent one with a good solid connector that won't waiver in either your TV HDMI or your PS3's..

Its only when you get to say 7-10m cable length that premium quality is required, as there is a copper resistance and interference factor to consider, especially if you want to maintain a 1080p (D5) connection over and above that distance....so in other words, only a small number of people with home theater setups will be concerned (running to projectors etc)..
For people running to their TV in a "normal" setup, just get a decent one.....don't fall for a lot of these premium PS3 branded ones..

Just to clarify. Is it a standard Hdmi to Hdmi cable? I was expecting a proprietary connection at the console end. I have a standard cable that I got with my dvd player and don't use.

Yeah, a standard HDMI to HDMI cable will do. It's not a proprietary HDMI connection on the back of the PS3.

I've ordered MLB 2K7 which came within 4 days and also Resistance which should be here tomorrow. Didn't get caught by customs because I ordered one at a time and they always mark down the price on the packaging.
