Need help putting together STT resource

    Hi,

I was thinking of putting together a table with details of the main sites STT's to help people choosing a site to play STT's on. My plan is to gather all the info here first and then compile it into a nice neat sperate thread with all the sites structures, starting chips, traffic volume etc

To keep it simple im just going to stick to full ring standard and full ring turbo if applicable as there are too many variations. Maybe ill add 6 ring at a later stage. So ill start by adding the details of the 2 i've been able to check out and hopefully people playing stt's on other sites can add to this thread and when i have enough sites ill put it into a neat format. For some reason i cant find the structures on betfair or party poker, maybe i need to open an account to check it so if anyone can tell me the structures there it would be great

    Ipoker Network:

    Standard Full Ring:
    Starting Stack: $1,000

Blinds Increase Every 7mins in the following increments:

    5/10
    10/20
    20/40
    30/60
    50/100
    100/200
    150/300
    200/400
    300/600
    400/800
    500/1000

    Volume:

Hard to tell at this early stage but giving its one of the biggest European networks you shouldnt have to wait too long. Busiest times is evening times GMT and it seems to slack off closer to midnight. Ive been playing $20 stt and there starting every 1-4 minutes

Comments: (This is just imho for now but ill take all the comments and come up with a summary)
If you havent doubled up within the first 4 levels its becomes a bit of an all in game as the blinds get very heavy from there on in. Its somewhere in between a turbo and a standard sng on the old tribeca network. Wish they would have both though as i dont like the amount of luck involved in the latter stages as people have no choice but to call all in with the sizes of the stacks compared to the blinds and it limits your ability to steal and play aggressive on the bubble.

    Full Tilt Poker

    Standard Full Ring:
    Starting Stack: $1,500

Blinds Increase Every 6mins in the following increments:

    15/30
    20/40
    25/50
    30/60
    40/80
    50/100
    60/120
    80/160
    100/200
    120/240
    150/300
    200/400
    250/500
    300/600
    400/800
    500/1000
    600/1200
    800/1600
    1000/2000
    1200/2400
    etc etc

    Volume:

Im no expert on this but its obviously one of the bigger networks and so you should'nt have any problems getting games here. Im going to start playing a few stt's here again so ill see how much action there is.

    Comments:
I havent played stt's here in a while, mostly cash but judging by the structure and what i can remember of playing here this is very suitable to playing very tight and waiting to get paid off by a weak kicker or TP when you hit your set etc.

After the blinds hit the 50/100 level is usually the time i start to become more aggressive, this gives you around 30 mins of play before it hits this level compared to 28 on ipoker but the difference is after another 24 mins on full tilt your only going to be playing 120/240 but at this stage youll be playing 300/600 on ipoker. Still time to play poker on full tilt but it will be well into all in time by this stage on ipoker aswell as taking into consideration the starting stacks of $1500 on FT compared to ipokers $1000 stacks

This should give someone playing good poker a distinct advantage over a long period but may not suit someone trying to fit as many games into a short as period as possible as the games here can take approx 1hr on average compared to about 40 mins on ipoker if i remember correctly.

So if anyone can add any other sites theyve played on to this thread that would be great.

    Cheers

This is what it was on Party up until recently anyway.

Blinds increase very 10 minutes. (Think its every 5 mins on speed)
    Starting stack 2000

    20/40
    30/60
    50/100
    100/200
    200/400
    300/600
    400/800 +25ante
    600/1200 +50ante

Not many games go beyond this.

The game is ok on regular 10 minute intervals. You have about 30 hands to find your feet. Blinds are not really worth stealing until the 100/200 level when the BB becomes 1% of total chips in play. Most players don't seem to adjust to bubble play. I only ever played the $11,$22 and $33 games though.
I never played the speed games much but from what I recall it becomes a crapshoot within 20 hands

Thanks Bob, that sounds very similar to the old tribeca stt's, maybe there was a 150/300 level aswell i think. Might lodge a few bob in party and try a few games there too, how did you find the competition, is it fairly beatable at that level i.e 10-15% ROI

I played about 300 of them from december-february and had a ROI of 26%. Its not a great sample size. Only had one really cold patch where I went 20 with no cash finish. I may also have had a slightly disproportionate amount of wins/cash finish(I won half of my cash finishes-not sure whats normal).

I found it worthwhile to take notes on players too there are alot of people only play STTs and you do run into the same players despite the volume.
Watch out especially for people who are afraid of scary boards and play plenty of hands in position against them.
Although alot of people say the best stt strategy is ubertight until the bubble and then loosen up ridiculously, I found you're better off playing almost any 2 cards from cutoff or button for the first 2 or 3 levels - especially of course if you get to make the initial pf raise. Most people playing STTs I think have no clue whatsoever about position and just think "oh he's playing a few hands so he's not hanging around waiting for aces or kings". They see no difference between an UTG raise and a button raise. This is based on my 300 game sample so maybe I just ran well and its not an effective strategy overall.

Hopefully then when you reach the bubble you have alot of players covered and can boss the table appropriately.
I haven't played one in a while now as I'm trying to get to grips with cash games. I had only put $100 in and used the STTs to try and build a bankroll for playing cash.

    DVDFan,
These people have beat you to it.

You can use the dropdown on the right to change which site it gives details on.

    Thanks Armani,

Its was more for selfish reasons i started this thread as i want to build a resource so i could choose the best place to play stt's as the structure on ipoker is terrible. Hopefully they'll change this soon:mad: And if someone already has this done then it saves me the work:D

So i need to find a new home like the old tribeca and full tilt and party looks the favourites so far..

btw the link isnt working, is it wrong link or is the site just down??

Site seems to be back up now. Had a look through a few of the STT structures and PokerRoom (OnGame network) seems quite similar to Tribeca, and their 1st deposit bonuses work out about 65% rkbck. iPoker/Playtech bonuses seem to be only about 20% for tourney play.
