hello all was in my local yesterday, having a few pints and talking about cheltenham.a local man came in and has a good knowledge of horses,he told us he was off yesterday and heard a man telling someone about the 3:10 sunderlands imperial cup handicap race in sandown tomorrow, heres the tricky bit he did,nt get the name of the horse but said the trainer was p j rothwell.

i have checked out the race and p j rothwell has 2 horses running in the race {that was the bit i feared when he first told us} loughanelteen and stoneraker.

its got to be stoneraker as his recent form is great won his last 4 races out,and he is available @ around 8/1,9/1 with some bookies.
now i,m not saying its going to win for definate but its worth a few euros i think.

Rothwells horse in the 3.45 Fairyhouse (Monoceros) is expected to go very well today too.

Isn't this trainer out of form?

Still, cheers for the whisper OP, he's at a nice price and I'll stick a few quid on him.

Hmmmm, what chance of the Rothwell Double, with odds at around 22/1 ish ? Could the board get two whspers right in one day!!?

Philip Rothwell was on ATR this morning. He was very bullish about Loughanelteen. Think he actually said "I think he will win the Imperial Cup" !!

Said the horse had wind problems which have been sorted now and he was the stronger of the two in todays race, and was working very well at home.

I'm going to back it e/w - and with a little saver on Stoneraker just in case!

as i said before i,m not really sure which one of rothwells horse,s it is.

The racing post also seems to think that Loughanelteen has a chance of reversing the result against Stoneraker on better terms today!!

Rothwell was on ATR this morning and he said Loughanelteen has the better chance of the two. Very bullish indeed scargill. His words were "Loughanelteen will win the Imperial Cup". Was 20s with Powers a while ago.

Just gonna try a small E/W in Sandown 2:05 - 'Glinton' currently about 25/1.

Can handle the muck and ****e it seems on the form! :D

    22/1 with Betfred...

He seems very confident if you're quoting him correctly.

    Might go big on this!

Anyone know anything about the horse, or going in blindly?

Jesus, there's confidence for you. Might do a few each way on it myself. Would hate to miss out on a 20/1 for the sake of ten or twenty euro. Had no backing plans today so may as well. Still quoted at that price on PP (who are giving money-back if second to an Irish horse)
