STEVE VAI has been using DiMarzio cables for years. The new Steve Vai Signature Guitar Cable features modified gold-plated DiMarzio/Switchcraft plugs. These plugs incorporate a new improved strain relief for the already well-designed Switchcraft end. They have a jewelry finish and feature a ring with Steve Vai’s logo to identify the guitar side of the cable. The reduced capacitance cable is specially tuned for Vai’s sound. Steve Vai Signature cables are encased in a black braided jacket that protects the cable from damage, and they are double shielded to reduce hum, interference and stage noise. These cables are available in 10 feet and 18 feet lengths. Visit DiMarzio.com for tech specs and more information.

    I'd say so

I dunno, I've found a big difference with certain cables. This is the part of the reason that all my cables are now Planet Waves, the other reason being they're as rugged and sturdy as they come. So I do see the logic behind signiature cables.

Wouldn't run out and buy any, but it makes sense.

There's logic behind good cables as opposed to **** cables. But what's next, are you going to replace the cabling inside your guitar, because surely you'd hear the difference in that too, if you've got **** cabling in there are you not losing out too? Who made the cable that runs from your jack to your pots? ;)

it's not the length of your cable,it's the girth that matters ;)

It is all about the girth :D

ive actually got no problem with quality cables, but signature cables is a bit daft alright.

Ive bought the american guitar magazines a few times, and theyre almost unreadable with all the whoring that goes on - Zakk Wylde is an awful man for it ('The marshall MG is really slamming!'...), and that fat blind country player seems to endorse anything that moves.

But i suppose money is money. The likes of Vai and satch probably make as much money endorsing things as they do selling records

I do. They're both excellent guitarists. Although Satch's latest efforts have been kinda poor, Steve's still top of the game.

ah i was only joking lads,:D
but really i can almost stake my life on it that none of my mates that aren't already guitar/bass players would have a clue who they were

Ya know what? I use cheapy Neutrik cables. They are no different to Planetwaves or any other cable. The quality of the cable may make a difference but your average guitarist and definately the average punter in the pub wouldn't notice. And let's not forget Mr. Vai's Carvin amps that he proudly displays on stage aren't even used! He uses Bognor Ecstasys...

This message was typed on a Steve Vai signature keyboard. If you use the keyboard coupled with the Steve Vai wankometer you get that Vai tone as you surf for porn! :D
