I have an electrical item from Japan that I am trying to use here. I plugged the Japanese plug into my JAP/US to UK converter plug but it didn't work, it works with my American items though. I thought Japan and the USA used the same voltage, which mustn't be the case.

Its a Japanese 4.5v sony charger
    Input AC 100V 50/60hz 6VA
    Output DC4.5V 500mA

Can any kind soul point me in the right direction.

    Thanks
