I heard a rumour that Fm104 are going back to use the name Capital Radio before the end of the year? Is it true?

I've not heard that rumour, but I would'nt be surprised if they did.

I know it won't be happening here for a while, but if Digital Radio (DAB) takes off, having a name thats an analogue frequency is old hat.

They've built up a very strong brand over the past decade, and it would cost them a hell of a lot to rebrand with a new name. Don't imagine it would be worth the hassle tbh.

The BCI aren't too happy about stations calling themselves after their frequencies as they like to reserve he right to move the stations frequency.

98fm will be in a similar situation.

Neither of them are actually on those frequencies either, are they?

    I thought FM104 was on 104.4 and 98FM was on 98.1FM?

    Open to correction though...

Them be right, stargal. They are not on the exact frequencies their title describes.

For what it's worth I also heard that Capital Radio rumour today.

Q102 seem to be in the clear thanks to the 'Q' apparently.

Hmm, I remember the brief stint as "Rock 104" alright, although come to think of it, there was a Capital Radio in the late 80's/early 90's I think?

Can't see them rebranding at this stage though.

I can't see them dropping the FM104 brand at any cost.
