Does anyone know of anywhere in Dublin that runs anger/stress management classes? I'm really at my wits end with everything these days and recognise I have a problem dealing with it. Any help would be appreciated.

I did a quick google and found the bupa website which talks about anger management

here is a snippet from it, hope it helps:

Seeking help for an anger problem
Some people need more help to address their anger problem. Professional services can help to improve anger management.

    Assertiveness training
Assertiveness training teaches people how to express their feelings and needs in a calm, considered way that is respectful of the other person. It may help where the problem concerns a difficulty with expressing anger constructively. Be careful not to choose any book or course aimed at enabling timid people to get in touch with their anger. This is not your problem!

    Counselling
Counselling can help you to look at the thinking and behaviours associated with your anger. There are many types of counselling – you should tell a prospective counsellor that you wish to look at anger management, and ask them about their approach.

    Anger management programme
This is a more focused programme designed for people who’ve had a single violent episode or who’ve been violent in the past and now feel able to make changes. Programmes can be one-day/weekend courses or can last for up to eight weeks. They can involve some one-to-one sessions and some group work. Participants usually look at the rules of anger management, feelings and assertive/clean expression of anger. Ask your GP for details.

I found this in dun Laoghaire

and this claims to also serve dublin

I could be wrong, but I think 'anger management' is very much an American thing. Most folks just go to a counsellor to try to discover the root cause for their anger, rather than just learn to deal with it.

I agree with this, instead of dealing with the anger when it comes you should put some serious thought into whats causing it and try to come to terms with it. I often can have an explosive, frightening temper and am trying to deal with why I am angry sometimes.

How about taking up a strenuous sport, something that you can funnel the frustration into?

But if it is getting to be a serious issue for you, then by all means, seek professional advice. The charter at the top of this can numerous links. Maybe one might be of help to you.

Your GP may be able to recommend either something very specific if there is something local or something general like massage, counselling, yoga, etc.

    What are you angry at?
