Hey all!

Myself & my girlfriend are planning about 7-10 days in Rome in June but accommodation is working out so expensive.. I've been pricing round and flights are costing €170 each and decent accommodation is averaging at around €600 each [which i dont mind paying, but they're s**t to be honest!].. all of the half decent places are too far outside rome and not near the metro or they are pretty much central but shabby! anybody got any suggestions on nice hotels in rome that are worth the money? everytime i find a half decent hotel i check it out on tripadvisor and it gets terrible reviews..

Any help would be greatfully appreciated!!!!

We went to Rome a few weeks ago. I started a thread requesting advice on accomodation (http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055040285&referrerid=&highlight=rome)

We ended up staying the Hotel Miami (http://www.hotelmiami.com/inghilterra/hotel-rome-3-xxx-hotel-miami-rome.htm)

Was ok. Standard of accomodation is not on a par with Ireland but my only complaint about the hotel was the bed (very hard). Location wise it was perfect.

We booked through www.booking.com which was cheaper than booking direct.

hey! tanx for the advice, found a few nice apts on sleepinitaly.com and as for needahotel.com, i usually use it but the standard isnt great this time and then anytime i check reviews bout the hotels on tripadvisor they're usually terrible, i guess the standard must be bad all round! tanx for the link to the previous rome post.. any more tips anyone, feel free!!!

I stayed in UNIVERSO Hotel in Rome two weeks ago and it was grand. Central (2 minutes walk to Termini and was about €490 for 5 nights) which was B+B.

June is going to more expensive though because of time of year..
