    Hi all,

I would like to know what equipment I would need to purchase to extend my network wirelessly.

I would like to connect two locations, line-of-site, wirelessly. Anyone have any ideas ?

    Hi,

Do you wish to share broadband or just link 2 sites?

To link the 2 sites, an access point at site 1 with a directional aerial. At site 2, a wireless bridge with a directional aerial pointing back to site 1. An example of a wireless bridge is http://reviews.cnet.com/Linksys_WET54G_Wireless_G_Ethernet_bridge/4505-3265_7-30460920.html

Hard to suggest specific equipment as you don't say what the distance is.

    Just link 2 locations

Your links are helpful. I have some direction now.

The distance I'd be looking at is up to 500meters. Would I need to get a WET54G and then an antenna ? Also what about the other end , what device would I need there ? Would any access point work or do I need the same combination on the other end ?

    WRT54gl may be cheaper

Also just get two neat little weather proof boxes with antennas built in from arial.net

    little cabling job done
