Monitor calibration

I've just bought myself a Toshiba A100 notebook, which I intend to use primarily for Photoshop CS2.

My prints are coming out with much stronger saturation that when I view them on the monitor. When I view the pic on my pc at work the saturation is the same as the prints.

The colour correction options on the lap top are:

    (a) Gama: 1 - 5, set as 1 for default
    (b) Brightness: -60 - 100, set at 0 for default
    (c) Contrast: 40 : 100, set at 50 as default

Try as I might, I can't get the screen to match the print using these controls.

I have seen on other threads that Abobe Gamma can be of help for calibration but I'm not having much joy with that either. I'm using the default sRGB IEC61966-2.1 colour profile, the gamma is set to 2.2 and the white point is set to 6500.

    Anyone have any suggestions?

The only thing I could suggest is a hardware calibrator such as this ,

    http://www.colorvision.ch/products/prod_spyder2express.php

Be warned though , that it may not work as your screen may not have the range of adjustments required , but at least you'll know that it cant be done if thats the case , the unit is 85 € ( ex VAT) ,
I have used one on my LCD screen ( samsung 930 ) and it worked a treat , however I have never tried it on a laptop as mine is just a cheap thing used for a quick review of photos in the field and not editing.
It does say that it can manage laptops though !!
