    Hi,

Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere. I've been trying to replace all the bulbs in our house with CFL's, but I've been frustrated with the lack of choice available in the major DIY stores. I've tried B&Q, Woodies and Atlantic all in the last week and have failed completely to find a decent selection :( . Specifically, one of the types I'm looking for is a small candle bulb with a bayonet cap. If anyone can suggest a better resource, whether a shop or online, I'd love to hear it.

    Thanks...

I'm pretty sure Homebase do the CFL candle bulbs (the one on the Naas Rd/Kylemore Rd junction anyway).

Hey. Thanks for the reply. The candle CFL's I'm looking for are quite small, so I'm unsure if those are the ones you've seen? I have seen the larger candle CFL's and B&Q did have one small candle CFL but it was screw-in. I'm sure I'll find them eventually, but it's just disappointing that many of the bigger stores don't have a great selection. Though I shall be giving Homebase a try, thanks for the tip...!

Anyone know of an online resource for buying CFL's?

While I'm here, I may as well ask: why can I find nothing "smaller" than a 40W light equivalent CFL bulb? Are they not stocked? Are they not commercially viable? If they are not made, is there a technical obstacle?

I picked up a good range of different CFL bulbs in the B&Q in tallaght before christmas after searching about 10 stores. You basically need to find somewhere that stocks the GE brand of CFL bulbs as they do the full range of bulbs - i had some small candle bulbs that were particularly hard to find CFL equivalents for...

    hope that helps!
