Rewiring a 2x12

So I have recently found myself in the fortuitous position of having 2 really nice amp heads, a Laney GH50L and a Marshall JMP1/Engl 830 rack combo. Unfortunately I only have one cab at the moment and need to sort out some stuff first before I buy another. In the meantime I was wondering would it be possible to wire my 2x12 16ohm V30 cab into a stereo configuration?

Yeah, wiring into stereo is easy - wiring it into a stereo/mono configuration is a bit trickier, but its just a case of finding the right bits.

Which are you looking to do?

Maplin probably have most of the bits you need - search 1/4" mono or stereo socket. You can get extra dishes if you need them too, drilled and undrilled. Pages like http://www.maplin.co.uk/search.aspx?MenuNo=77676&MenuName=6.35mm+(1%2f4+inch)+Mono+Jacks&worldid=-9&FromMenu=y&doy=6m3
    or

should have some of the bits you need.

What tubes are you using in the JMP-1?

How does the Laney compare to the rack rig?

If you have the Framus cab (which I think you do for some reason..) It's generally recommended to change the input sockets on those anyway.

I had a quick google for something like a marshall speaker dish (with a switch between stereo and mono), which would have all the bits you need, just need to be wired up properly.

Couldnt find anything though, you might have more luck:(

Cheers Voodoo, something like that would be ideal, ill give a look myself :)

Ive got a set of high gain JJ's in my JMP-1, they sound a good bit better than the stock tubes. As for the Laney vs JMP-1, its close but I prefer the Laney. It has a very unique voice to it but it really stands out. Unfortunately the effects loop sucks on it :(

Your close on the cab, I have the fame one :) Pretty good cab for the price but I want to save up and get an Orange 4x12 :)

Edit: Just want to say that a JMP1 + Digitech Bad Monkey = awesomeness!

Double Edit: It turns out the Laneys effects loop is fine, its just the button is sh*t (its really recessed and it was on insert, not side chain)
