I am going to send a few emails today to places with a cover letter and my CV. Just wondering what is the best way to do this? Is it acceptable to just send an E-mail saying please find attached my CV and cover letter and leave it at that? all the info needed is in the cover letter so I would feel a bit of a wally just spouting stuff in the E-mail they will read in the cover letter anyway. What should I do? Thanks.

Well from your previous threads, you're looking for summer work so you might want to put that in your cover letter/email.

Yeah I plan to put that in my cover letter but I am just wondering what should I say in the Email I send with the cover letter attached. Is it alright to just say "please find my cover letter and cv attached" or do they expect a spiel in the Email. Like I said I have included all necessary details in the cover letter so i would just be repeating myself.

Bah, just put the cover letter content into your email.
