I'm having a DRM problem

I normally purchase in mp3 format, but the album I got was only available in DRM-Protected WMA format. My first time using DRMs.

The website in question is 7digital, so everything is above board.

After I purchase/download the tracks, I've to play them through Windows Media Player (I've got v11), which requires me to validate them first.

I put in my email address & password as required. It then says it was successful & 'Press play below to hear the song', but the play button isn't active. Only the cancel button.

I've emailed 7digital, but they say the licence on the tracks are working fine.

Is it a firmware problem with WMP ? Microsoft are cheekily charging €63 (plus vat) to email their customer support, so bollix to that !!

    cheers for any help

Can you not just burn them as an audio CD and then re-rip it back onto your computer in a format that suits you?

WMP obviously isnt downloading the licence, so it wouldn't let you play them, let alone burn them.

Try reinstalling WMP. If that doesn't work, I'd say go back to 7Digital.

There is also the option to remove the DRM, which seems a little extreme if you've bought the music already!

So you use Nero to burn them?

That wouldn't work either. All programs which can burn protected WMA's either use the normal decryption method - which requires the keys (i.e. licence) - or they use WMP to do it for them (again, requires the keys).
