Mac wireless internet problem - drops connection. PC doesn't

    I have my Mac Mini (PPC) connected to my wireless Netgear router via Airport. My Windows pc is also connected to this network. Both work fine for some time, however the Mac always drops off for some reason.

    The symptoms are that you can not longer access any website page. I can still access the router itself on its local IP. When this happens, there is no way to connect to the internet aside from rebooting the router - either a hard reboot by pulling the power, or by a soft boot via the admin console.

    When this happens, the pc stays connected to the router and the internet, with no such issues.

    So it seems to be a problem with the Mac somehow.

    Signal strenght on the Mac and PC are both strong to excellent.

    The router is a Netgear DG834G with the latest firmware installed.

    The Mac and the XP machine both have the latest OS patches installed.

    Can anyone suggest anything that I can try to troubleshoot this to find where the issue is, or suggest any setting that I can adjust to see if I can maintain my connection for longer ?

    Trying the Mac on a wired connection to the router isn't practical as the router is over 50feet from the machine.
