Well,my first post here.I visited some castles and abbeys in Tipp at the weekend.I usually don't focus too much on the photography side of things when visiting these places(just have a basic digital camera.)But I'd like to get an idea where I'm at with photography and some tips would be great.Be as harsh as ye like.

Thanks very much for the nice comments and encouragement :)

The first 2 were taken in Thomastown Castle (close to Golden.) The next was in Grallagh Castle near the Horse and Jockey. And the last 2 were taken in Athassel Abbey in Golden.Athassel is massive, you can easily spend an hour or 2 wandering and climbing around it.I'd definitely reccomend visiting it if you're passing through Golden.

That's pretty good deafvision.I was messing around with it earlier, mine was a bit brighter but the darkness definitely works a lot better.

I tried the 1st and 4th one in black and white.I kind of messed up the dodging and burning in the 1st one though.

Very nice indeed I think it works better in B&W. I really like the graphical quality of the 3rd one

B&W treatment is excellent, the arch shot has gone from a good shot to a great shot.. amazing the difference B&W makes to shots especially ruins.
