    Well guys,

Lookin to get a decent laptop. Size of screen and weight doesnt bother me, neither does the graphics card. I do however need 2gb RAM,decent cache and a Hard Disk of 60gb to 80gb (no need to go over that). Opsys - Vista Home will do.

Budget is €950, am I dreaming?

It sounds like you are looking for horesepower over mobility, would that be correct?

If so, the Core Duo processors would give more raw processing power.

Is the Core Duo processors really worth the money? Yeah lookin for power over mobility

If processing power is what you are after, then yes.

    Cheers Tom.

The hard-drive, probably not, but the screen is a different kettle of fish altogether.

It depends on what you will be doing with it. If you are number crunching and walking away from the laptop, then it's not a big deal. Likewise, if you are using an external monitor, then it's no biggie.

However, if you are doing development work, or anything that involves staring at a screen for extended periods, well then maybe it is worth the extra.

    It's your call really. :D

Remember to get a decent warranty on it whichever you end up buying, just for the peace of mind.
