The official rest position has right foot on brake.

    Also lifesaver, lifesaver, lifesaver!

I got pulled up for lack of observation on first test. Really try and swing that head around for the lifesaver and don't just glance through corner of your eye. Especially if the instructor is following in a car.

And the best way to pass, do a pre-test the day before or morning of your test. It'll make sure all the good behaviors are fresh in your mind.

Thanks for the info, i went through the course with a friend of mine yesterday who passed his test 3 months ago but was unsure of foot situation.Would love to do a pretest but for Tralee means you have to bring someone from Cork or Limerick and that ain't cheap.

PASSED, and yes the lifesaver was the biggie, even quizzed about it on the verbal quiz.

Well lads i may be looking for something a bit bigger, and yep i know about the *official* 2 year restriction:eek: but will see how i get on.

I'd imagine you'd be best to keep it official. Your insurance company might not pay out if you have an accident on an unrestricted bike and that'll cause major problems for you.

Been riding 6 years now and only recall once been asked about restriction by the boys in blue and even then they never looked for paperwork:cool: but suppose you're right about the insurance aspect..

Yes, the insurance is the only thing that I would be worried about. It would be a kick in the stones if they wouldn't cover you because of the restriction.

They won't. I asked. They fairly made that point clear.

They would pay out to the third party, cover all their own expenses, and then seek compensation from the effectively uninsured party (ie the unrestricted driver).

They said it came down to the lying on the application form.

And before anyone asks "how can they prove the restriction is in place" they just hire accident investigators who take a look at the impounded vehicle and they can quite quickly determine if the washers are still there, or if the ECU is still in place.

    O.P. SV is available.
