    Hi All

I’m painting an apartment and am looking for the best value for money places to buy paint. I’m always looking for ways to avoid paying rip off Republic prices. Can anyone recommend a retailer either North or South of the border that could allow me to do this. Reasons why you recommend that retailer will also be welcome.

    Thanks in Advance

try akzo nobel trade shops. They make crown paint.

Have your colour code picked out before you go. Get the colour chart from
    Woodies or wherever.

less then a third of the price in the shops.

I find both Homebase and B&Q own brand paints to be quite good quality, and reasonably priced. Avoid Woodies own brand, I've unfortunately bought them a couple of times and they're pretty poor

General paints in Celbridge manufacture Colortrend paints (www.colortrend.ie - but its a slow website!) and have a counter for selling to the public. They are on the maynooth road next to the garda station (and opposite tescos).

Someone already mentioned it but Atlantic have half price on their own emulsions. Pretty cheap.
