Getting tax back

    Hi,

    Im just wondering how long does it it take to get emergency tax back? I sent in a copy of my p60 to the tax office 3 weeks ago, yesterday i got a statement of my tax credits but there was no mention of the emergency tax. i was on social welfare for a couple of months before I started my job. By any chance will they take my emergency tax to pay back the dole?

    I think it can take up to 8 weeks to get your emergency tax back, it does depend on the time of year (and now would be one of the busiest times).

    Why don't you contact Revenue, times vary and they will be the only ones who can give you a definite answer.
