i would never consider it good news regardless of who ive have or havent backed. i prefer to see the best horses in the race and this is the 3rd year in a row the champ hasnt been around to defend his crown. disappointing blow to the race imo

As do I. I'd prefer for WOA to be in the Gold Cup and for Exotic Dancer to beat it on the day, but that's not going to happen now and realistically it gives the other horses a better chance, and I'll take that.

We might have seen the last of WOA according to the paper today.Mouse Morris says he's no better than 50/50 to see a racecourse again as that type of tendon injury is very hard to recover from.Pity.

Sad ... I will never forget his jump at the last in 2006 Gold Cup ... it was the greatest leap I have ever seen ... at the end of 3 1/2 miles he cleared the fence by about 2 foot ... I thought he looked like a machine that would go on to win the next two GCs ... and I had not got him backed ...

Strange, tough game ... I remember thinking similarly about Imperial Call and even Kicking King ... it is amazing how many horses, after reaching great heights, just seem to disappear for one reason or another ...

not to mention the guy who had 10 grand @ 14/1 a few weeks ago - on Black Jack to win the next three World Hurdles ... anothere couple of days and he may get 14/1 for this year's ...

very hard to keep horses right at that level of the game -but the biggest headache fancing trainers now is the transport to the festival -wild in dublin at the moment so cant see the ferries going tonite -this weather next week would be a nitemare for them

Knighted, do all horses go by boat? ... do none go by plane? Thanks

cost too much to send by plane -by boat and lorry it can still be 2 grand plus expences if u share the box think it upwards of 6 grand to fly(open to corection but there abouts)so it depends on the owners if they have the resources but generally yes they travel by boat

Shut up. I could happily ban you for after timing. It is in the charter after all.

That was a previous mod. He's no longer running the show. My only addition to the charter was the aftertiming bit. And believe me, I'll only abuse those who deserve to be abused. I'm very loyal to the HR regulars...actually...I'd be embarrassed to act like a mod to the regulars.

It's your own fault fade. If you didn't talk to that muppet on The Thunderdome he would have never found our little corner of boards. I blame you! :p
