My PC's dual core cpu stalls

    I have a custom built PC and it has an Athlon64X2 dual core cpu. Every time when I am browsing the internet or using applications when clicking X on the windows they take ages to close. And when shutting down my PC it stalls for about 3 minutes. I have tested this cpu on 2 different motherboards with the same ram and I am getting this problem. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?

    Have you installed the AMD processor driver? (I'm assuming you are using XP)

    Thanks I never knew that you could get drivers for processors.

    I don't know if this will solve your problem but it will eliminate one possiblity for sure.

    Post back with results and I'm sure solutions will be found.
