I'm curious about what replies this hand will get.

villain at the time is an unknown, his stats suggest he's a tight solid winning tag.

pf is obviously bad on my part, so no need to dwell on that, what do u think of the flop? And what's the plan for the rest of the hand.

Holdem No Limit - $2 BB

    MP ($466)
    CO ($128.50)
    Button ($240.25) [Shane]
    SB ($210)
    BB ($143.75)
    UTG ($239.25)

Shane is Button with Kd, Ad
    Preflop: (6 players, $3)
UTG calls $2, MP calls $2 and raises $8, CO folds, Shane calls $10, 2 folds, UTG calls $8

    Flop: 6c, Kh, 4d (3 players, $33)
UTG checks, MP bets $20, Shane calls $20, UTG folds

prefop is fine. you can raise sometimes/call sometimes.

flop plays itself so ok there.

turn is a call. We should only really be concerned about AA and to a lesser extent KK. Most will limp behind with small PP. QQ-99 and some other hands we beat second barrell enough

    river will be tough.

i always re raise preflop, but whatever. i play in games so aggro calling preflop is losing lots of cash

postflop, call flop is fine. see what happens on turn

if there wasnt a UTG limper i would reraise way more often. unless i have seen different i dont think MP is raising to isolate a weak player at 1/2. generally players are happier to limp behind with small PP and other crap, so i dont think the 3bet is as profitable here.

do most people at this level check or bet KQ here?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,894 ✭✭✭✭phantom_lord

most people bet kj here! but we're assuming the villain is a good player.

Agh reraise preflop for the love of god. I might fold the turn. He has AA or a set way more than KQ/QQ/JJ (assuming he's a tight predicatble winner).

I think calling or folding are both ok here though it is opponent specific.

i think the turn's a clear fold anyway.

I get a raise in on the flop and get the rest in on the turn. I possibly go broke a bit too much with overpairs, tptk and sets.

against the regular donk on tribeca 100% raise PF. And raise the flop too, hoping to get it all in.

Against decent TAGs I sometimes call PF, but mostly raise. I probably go into check call mode if he comes out firing, and only drop if it looks like he wants his stack in the middle. I raise on the flop if he bets something like $15.. There is no clear cut way to play this hand against a solid TAG.

Seeing as villian is unknown at the time, I call turn.

villain is a boardie, I just didn't know at the time. his stats said he was a bit of a nit

    Nuclear Nuts?
