Can anyone recommend shops in Dublin area for buying pictures (apart from Woodies and the likes).
Stuff like pictures of cities, mountains etc.

Really all depends on your budget.

Roches Stores used to have a large selection, but not sure if they still do since being taken over by Debenhams.

I would suggest a look in We Frame It. There is a branch on Dawson Street and they have every type of print and lots of different frames.

You can buy print only or select a framed version. Not cheap though.

Other places to look include Bargaintown, Home Store & More, Dunnes and any of the bigger Tesco stores (such as Clare Hall). I've got some great bargains in prints from garden centres that also have home departments (eg Johnstown Garden Centre).

Also, if you have particular images in mind, it may be worth considering getting them printed in places like Reads - an A2 print in colour is about €28 IIRC. Also, Reads do canvas printing for about €60 which is top quality for your precious images.

    Hi Tonic07

If your looking for something a little more custom than the stuff in Dunnes Stores etc I can do a print on canvas and mount it on canvas bars. Normally size is around 24 inches x 32 inches but I can do any size.

I've done several for mates/family and could do you one for 80-100 euros depending on the size. You provide me with a theme and colours and I get creative :)

I'll post up a photo of the most reason one I've done when I get home from work.

    If your interested PM me.

Ha! Had to go training first, not long in the door.

Ok, only have two in the house at the moment, had to put them sitting on top of the sofa for the photos.

Most recent one is of the late George Best which I did for my housemate, the second one is a commissioned piece of work I did two years ago. It's wrapped in laminate sheeting so there's a glare in the photo.

If you need any more info feel free to ask

Finally used that Rasterbator tool, output isnt bad, tested it on a couple of movie posters, wouldnt be too hard to run together a perspex/wood frame for them either. Nice stuff.

Also if you are only looking for prints you can always make use of your office colour printer :D Then you just frame them.

If you are in Cork any time there is a great shop in the city centre where the Tesco shopinc centre is and a comic book store upstairs.. Do not know the name of the shopping centre but its small and on a pedestrian street... anyway lovely paintings etc in there for about €35 or more.

Saruman, would that place in cork be other realms ?

Think its Paul St your talking about, he does a stand in Douglas the odd time. Nice stuff for the price

The comic book store is other realms yes... and so yes as the driver said its Paul street according to the other realms map.
The art shop is at the bottom of the stairs (other realms at the top). on the ground floor.

If you are in Dublin there is a place on Liffey street beside the ATM (near arnotts and hector greys) that does framed photos
Oh and Large Tesco stores have some good pics like Mahumad Ali and an old scene from the building of a skyscaper in new york.

Yes its paul street and thats the comic book sore.. i had more written a few seconds ago but it dissapeared after i clicked submit because i did not give boards long enough to actually submit it and clicked something else.. damn boards is too slow.. adverts is not even working.. wrong forum to complain though :D

Anyway i was saying that Tesco does some good pics and if in Dublin, on liffey street beside the atm on the hector grey side is a shop that does prints.

Can i suggest looking at Charity shops? You might find something nice in there for cheap and you are helping people in need at the same time.
[edit] agh my first post just appeared again.. damn it.
